E: Problem executing scripts エラーの解決

Windows 10 + VMware Workstation 12 Player上のUbuntu 16.04で”sudo apt-get update”を実行すると次のようなエラーが発生しました。

 

 

$ sudo apt-get update
...
E: Problem executing scripts APT::Update::Post-Invoke-Success 'if /usr/bin/test -w /var/cache/app-info -a -e /usr/bin/appstreamcli; then appstreamcli refresh > /dev/null; fi'
E: Sub-process returned an error code

 

Comment #24 : Bug #1579712 : Bugs : appstream package : Ubuntuにて、解決方法の記述があったので、こちらの対処法を試したところ無事エラーは解決しました。

cd /tmp && mkdir asfix
cd asfix
wget https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/appstream_0.9.4-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb
wget https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/libappstream3_0.9.4-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb
sudo dpkg -i *.deb

2016年5月にバグとして報告されているものなので、最新版のUbuntuでは解決されているかもしれません。
